Get Professional Help For Trauma & PTSD Treatment

Trauma can shape how you think, feel, and move through the world. Whether it stems from a single event or long-term exposure to overwhelming experiences, its effects can persist — often in ways that feel confusing, exhausting, or isolating.

At Palladium Private, we provide trauma-informed residential support for adults navigating PTSD and complex trauma. Our approach offers space away from daily pressures, with consistent clinical care delivered in a setting designed to support regulation, safety, and gradual healing.

Understanding PTSD and Complex Trauma

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Symptoms may include hypervigilance, intrusive memories, emotional numbing, avoidance, or difficulty feeling safe — often long after the original threat has passed.

Complex trauma can arise from repeated or prolonged exposure to distress, such as childhood trauma, ongoing abuse, or chronic stress. Rather than a single event, it reflects a pattern of experiences that can affect emotional regulation, relationships, identity, and the nervous system over time. Understanding these differences helps shape care that is paced, stabilising, and responsive to individual needs.

Our Approach to Supporting Trauma Recovery

We begin with regulation, not reactivation

Trauma recovery doesn’t begin with retelling or exposure. It begins with safety — emotional safety, physical safety, and nervous system safety. Our approach prioritises stabilisation before anything else.

We never force disclosure or push people to speak before they’re ready. Instead, we focus on helping you develop a sense of calm, internal control, and capacity, so deeper therapeutic work can unfold in a way that feels contained and supportive.

Healing trauma means treating the whole person

Unresolved trauma doesn’t just live in thoughts or memories. It can show up in the body, in sleep, in relationships, and in the ability to trust yourself and others.

Your care may include trauma-informed counselling, EMDR (where appropriate), somatic practices, mindfulness, breathwork, and creative therapies. These approaches are chosen intentionally to support nervous system regulation, resilience, and sustainable recovery — not just symptom relief.

Your care team brings clinical skill and personal understanding

You’ll be supported by a multidisciplinary team that may include therapists, trauma-informed counsellors, nurses, and wellbeing practitioners working collaboratively throughout your stay.

Beyond clinical expertise, many members of our team bring lived experience of mental health or trauma recovery. This creates a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, respect, and a human-first approach, not rigid protocols or one-size-fits-all answers.

A therapeutic environment designed to lower stress and support recovery

For many people living with PTSD or complex trauma, everyday environments can feel overstimulating or unsafe. The setting in which recovery begins plays a vital role.

Set within the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Palladium Private offers a calm, consistent, non-clinical environment designed to reduce overwhelm. Without hospital corridors or urgency, the space allows you to slow down, breathe, and engage in therapeutic work from a place of greater stability.

What Trauma-Informed Residential Care Includes

Our residential program brings together trauma-informed clinical care and a retreat-style environment that supports healing at every level. From the moment you arrive, care is structured to help your nervous system settle and your sense of safety rebuild.

Support is personalised and paced, integrating psychological therapy, emotional regulation work, and somatic approaches within a consistent residential framework. The focus is on creating the conditions for meaningful, long-term recovery – not rushing the process.

Our program includes:

Individual Therapy

Group Therapy

Medical Support

Yoga Therapy & Personal Training

Massage

Nourishing Daily Meals

If you’re unsure whether this kind of support is right for you, speaking with a trauma-informed professional can help clarify your options. Your intake conversation is confidential, exploratory, and focused on determining whether residential support aligns with your needs and safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of trauma do you support?

We work with adults navigating a broad range of traumatic experiences, including childhood trauma, CPTSD, first responder or military-related trauma, grief, burnout, and relational or emotional abuse. Whether your trauma is recent or long-standing, clearly defined or difficult to name, you’ll be met with compassion, not judgement.

No. While we support many clients living with PTSD or complex trauma, a formal diagnosis isn’t required. You might simply feel like you’re carrying too much, or that something from your past is still affecting the way you think, feel, or respond. During your intake assessment, we’ll help determine whether a trauma-informed, residential program is the right fit for you.

Trauma-informed care means recognising how trauma impacts the nervous system, emotions, relationships, and sense of safety, and shaping our program around that understanding. At Palladium Private, this includes avoiding practices that may retraumatise, working at your pace, and offering a choice-driven, person-centred approach to therapy. You will never be asked to relive your trauma in order to heal from it.

Learn more about how we approach trauma-informed care in Our Program.

Unlike hospital settings, our trauma healing retreat offers a non-clinical, nature-based environment designed to reduce overwhelm and support nervous system regulation. You’ll receive structured care from qualified professionals, with the flexibility and personalisation that hospital programs often lack. Palladium Private is an NSQHS-accredited facility, which means you’ll still receive high-quality, evidence-based care in a setting that feels calm, private, and purpose-built for healing. There are no fluorescent lights or clinical wards here — just space, structure, and a team that meets you where you are.

Before completing your stay, you’ll receive a personalised aftercare plan to support your ongoing recovery. This may include referrals to trauma-informed therapists, lifestyle recommendations, and strategies for managing triggers or setbacks. Our goal is to help you leave not just feeling different, but feeling prepared.
