DVA-Funded Residential Rehab for Veterans, in Queensland
Structured, trauma-informed residential care for eligible DVA Gold and White Card holders. Evidence-based support for veterans navigating mental health, trauma, and challenges with substance use.
Nationally Accredited for Quality and Safety
Life after service can bring its own challenges
Leaving the structure of military or emergency service life behind is a significant transition. For many veterans, the months and years that follow can bring unexpected difficulties β persistent anxiety, low mood, sleep disruption, heightened stress responses, or challenges with alcohol or other substances.
These experiences are more common than many people realise. Research from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare indicates that veterans experience mental health conditions at higher rates than the general population, with PTSD, depression, and anxiety among the most frequently reported concerns. Approximately one in two ADF members who transitioned from Regular ADF service between 2010 and 2015 experienced a 12-month ICD-10 mental disorder.
If you’ve been putting off getting support – or haven’t known where to start – you’re not alone. Many veterans tell us that taking the first step was the hardest part. We’re here to make that step straightforward.
How DVA Funding for Residential Rehab Works
We Understand Why Asking for Help Can Be Difficult
Reaching out for support isnβt always straightforward, especially when your training has taught you to stay composed, self-reliant, and mission-focused.
Within Palladium Private, members of our clinical and leadership teams have served in the Australian Defence Force and emergency services. That lived experience shapes how this program operates. It informs the structure, the communication style, and the culture of respect youβll find here.
You wonβt be expected to justify your experiences or translate military culture into civilian language. Youβll meet a team that understands the weight of responsibility, the impact of transition, and the hesitation that can come with asking for help.
What matters most is that youβre met with steadiness, professionalism, and genuine respect.
A Trauma-Informed Approach, Grounded in Understanding
Many veterans carry experiences that are difficult to speak about, and even harder to process alone.
Our residential program is built around a trauma-informed framework that prioritises:
– Psychological safety
– Clear structure and consistency
– Respect for autonomy
– Working at a pace that feels manageable
Our clinicians have experience supporting veterans navigating trauma responses, moral injury, adjustment challenges, and the intersection of mental health and substance use.
You do not need to have everything clearly defined before reaching out. A diagnosis isnβt required to begin a conversation.
A Private Setting, Designed for Focus and Recovery
Palladium Private is located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, offering a calm and confidential residential setting away from the pressures of daily life.
For many veterans, stepping outside the environment where everything feels familiar, and sometimes overwhelming, creates space to think clearly again. Distance isnβt about isolation. Itβs about reducing noise, responsibility, and constant vigilance so you can focus on your own wellbeing.
Here, your days follow a consistent rhythm. There is clarity around what to expect. There is professional support available throughout the program. And there is time, often for the first time in a long while, to slow down and recalibrate.
Veterans from Queensland and across Australia are welcome, subject to DVA approval and availability.
Evidence-Based Therapy, Delivered With Practical Understanding
Your treatment plan is developed after a comprehensive clinical assessment, and adjusted as you progress. The structure provides direction, but your goals and needs shape the work.
Our residential program integrates evidence-based therapies, including:
– Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
– Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
– Schema therapy
– EMDR (where clinically appropriate)
– Psychodynamic approaches
– Group therapy and psychoeducation
– Mindfulness and somatic therapies
– Holistic wellbeing practices
Members of our team who have served understand that many veterans value practical tools, direct communication, and clarity about why something works. Therapy here is grounded, purposeful, and focused on building skills that translate into daily life.
The aim is to help you understand patterns, develop effective strategies, and build steadier foundations for the future.
